BACKGROUND
All of us are aware regarding the Skill India Programme
initiated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India
Narendra Modi. Accordingly all the Ministries and
Departments under the Central / State Governments have
been engaged in the skilling of youth programmes. Let
this skill development training continue but we strongly
feel that the priority should be on the development of
environmental skills in order to control pollution and
preserve the natural and the built environment.
In almost all countries of the world, there is a huge
requirement of manpower in the following areas related
to environment and allied issues :
Greening
Cleaning
Plantation
Nursery Development
Recycling
Pollution Monitoring and Control
Natural Resources Conversation
Environmental Education
Impact Assessment
Environmental Law
Environmental Advocacy
Environmental Citizenship
Sustainable Development
Disaster Management
Depolluting Technologies
Political Ecology
Ecological Philosophy
Ecomind
Ecoethics
Ecometaphysics
Ecotheology
Ecoculture
Ecowisdom
Ecotechnology
Ecopolitics
Ecodevelopment
Ecofeminism
Ecojustice
Waste Management
Hygiene
Sanitation
Water Quality Monitoring
Air Pollution Control
Noise Pollution Control
Water Pollution Control
Social Forestry
There is an urgent need for providing training to the
young boys and girls in the above mentioned fields in
order to develop environmental skills among them for
catering to the growing needs of jobs in these sectors.
By doing so the two biggest enemies of our country
namely pollution and unemployment will be solved by
creating ecofriendly jobs.
